FACTS:
The Coronavirus – or COVID-19 as defined by the World Health Organization is an upper respiratory infection that presents with fever, headache, dry cough, and generalized body aches. There is no rash, and very few secretions and a chest x-ray may or may not show discrepancies.
Most people will feel sick, but not be compromised in any way. Special groups with chronic medical conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Pulmonary Fibrosis, Congestive Heart Failure, Diabetes and Cancer may have increased incidents of the virus causing more serious complications. If you are over 70 years of age, you are also at an increased risk to experience more serious complications. It is important to understand the transmission rate is the same regardless of age or any other factors.
As of today, there have been no fatalities in children under the age of 10. In fact, the mortality rate goes almost undetected up to age 60, then is goes from 1.3% to 3.6%, and reaches its highest level of 14.8% at the age of 80. The death rate is slightly higher in males at 2.8% than in females at 1.7%. Often, the higher death rates are in people with pre-existing medical conditions mentioned above.
PREVENTION:

Nothing will substitute common sense when it comes to preventing this, or any other disease!
Avoid crowded places. Avoid International travel. Avoid people who have traveled overseas. Avoid people who are sick. Wash your hands often and keep your hands away from your face.
Contrary to common belief, the virus is not airborne. It is a droplet and is only spread by touching the secretions of an infected person.
TREATMENT:
There is no specific antiviral to treat Covid-19 and an effective vaccine has not yet been developed. It will take approximately 1 year to develop, fully test and release a vaccine. By then, the epidemic will be controlled by public health measures alone.
Disinfecting objects that were touched by the infected person is important to deter spreading of the virus.
As we learned from a previous epidemic caused by a Coronavirus called SARS, ozone is known to destroy the virus.
COVID-19 is an enveloped virus. In past studies, 99 percent of viruses have been destroyed and showed damage to their envelope proteins after 30 seconds of exposure to ozone. This can result in the virus’s failure to attach to normal, healthy cells, and the breakdown of the single-stranded RNA can lead to the destruction of the virus.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
The majority of patients infected with Coronavirus will never know it. They will just have mild symptoms with no complications.
If you have mild symptoms of fever, headache, cough, sore throat, and body aches and are not short of breath, weak, or debilitated – stay home and call your doctor.
If you belong to the high-risk group (elderly, COPD, Hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer, etc.) and you experience the mild symptoms listed above, we recommend you go to the hospital, where you can be properly treated and the facilities are more prepared to reduce spreading the virus.
