Vitamins

Vitamins are essential for the body to function normally. They play a crucial role in physical and mental development and in the prevention and cure of various health problems. Each type of vitamin actually refers to a group of compounds called vitamers that perform a particular biological or chemical activity associated with that vitamin. There are thirteen vitamins required by our bodies for biochemical functions and for the performance of many roles in the body. For most of us, it is difficult to synthesize organic compounds in adequate amounts with our regular diet.

Hormone Therapy

Men and Women can have unique health issues that can benefit from customized medications prepared by a compounding pharmacy.

A drop in testosterone levels is a natural result of aging. Around the age of 30, men’s levels of testosterone start to slowly decline. This drop in testosterone, while natural, can have negative implications on vital bodily functions. Testosterone aids in building muscle, bone density, sex drive, and the production of sperm and red blood cells. This lower level of testosterone production can also be caused by other underlying health factors, like chronic medical conditions, diabetes, obesity, and other hormonal conditions. Fortunately, in most cases, this condition is treatable.

Low Testosterone

Low testosterone can cause:

Changes in sexual function, like reduced sexual desire, fewer spontaneous erections, and infertility.

Changes in sleep patterns.

Physical changes, include increased body fat, reduced muscle bulk and strength, decreased bone density, body hair loss, and low energy.

Emotional changes consist of a decrease in motivation or self-confidence, feeling sad or depressed, and trouble concentrating or remembering.

Testosterone in Men

Testosterone helps men maintain:

  • Bone density

  • Fat distribution

  • Muscle strength and mass

  • Facial and body hair

  • Red blood cell production

  • Sex drive

  • Sperm production

Testosterone in Women

Testosterone in women helps:

  • Produce new blood cells

  • Enhance libido

  • Increase lean muscle mass

  • Increase endurance

  • Influence follicle-stimulating hormones that can affect reproduction

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction is the recurring inability to reach or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. ED can range from an inconsistent ability or complete inability to achieve an erection to having the ability to only sustain an erection for a brief period of time. It is normal for men to have the occasional difficulties reaching or sustaining an erection. However, the possibility of ED should be considered if a persistent inability or difficulty is present more than 25% of the time.

In the United States, as many as 30 million men are affected by ED.  The possibility of having ED increases with age, although it may arise at any time during a man’s life. Erectile dysfunction can have a broad range of causes including underlying health conditions that limit blood flow to the penis or sustained damage to the nerves in the area.

Weight Management

It’s not always clear what diet is best for you! Men’s and women’s bodies hold and lose fat differently. Women, on average, hold more weight than men in various areas of the body. It is imperative to maintain the essential nutrients your body requires when restricting food intake. This is where we come in.

Weight management is becoming more and more common throughout the United States. The levels of obesity are higher than at any point in history. This isn’t isolated to the United States either, as many countries are experiencing the same trend. According to a report published by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, “Since 1980, the prevalence of obesity has doubled in more than 70 countries and has continuously increased in most other countries.”

Being overweight can increase your risk of:

  • Heart Disease

  • Stroke

  • High Blood Pressure

  • Diabetes

  • Some Cancers

  • Gallbladder Disease and Gallstones

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Gout

  • Breathing Problems (Sleep Apnea and Asthma)

  • Fatty Liver Disease
